The Vauxhall STX Concept is the first model from the British marque to wear the new modernised Griffin emblem.

Vauxhall unveiled its STX Concept at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, presenting a radical electric estate car that challenges the notion that traditional station wagons are obsolete. The concept combines battery power with sporty “shooting brake” styling, signaling the brand’s intent to evolve the estate car for a new era.

Eurig Druce, managing director of Vauxhall and Stellantis Group UK, emphasized the model’s historical roots: “Vauxhall was an estate pioneer in the UK as early as the 1950s. With the STX Concept, we are reimagining the estate for the electric era, combining bold, visionary design with functionality, efficiency and driving pleasure.” The concept also introduces Vauxhall’s updated Griffin badge, featuring a more angular emblem without the traditional flag, designed for clarity on future models.

The concept’s front end showcases the new Griffin emblem illuminated within a crosshair-like “Compass” design. Active aerodynamics are also used, with blue-coloured diffuser elements extending from beneath the rear bumper. A top speed of 124mph is noted, though other technical specifications remain undisclosed.

Inside, the cabin features the brand’s “Painting with Light” approach, previously seen on the 2023 Experimental and 2025 Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo concepts. This approach is complemented by lightweight seats and immersive lighting that enhance the driver’s experience. The three-spoke 22-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 285/35 R22 Goodyear tyres, draw inspiration from the original Vauxhall Nova. These wheels align with the brand’s renewed focus on wheel design, following the new Corsa GSE.

While the concept’s dramatic aesthetics might suggest a purely aesthetic exercise, the brand positions it as a preview of its next-generation estate cars. The concept marks an important step in the brand’s “Bold and Pure” design philosophy, exploring features that could influence future models. By blending practicality with electric innovation, the STX signals that the estate car, far from extinct, may yet adapt to evolving consumer needs and technological shifts.
