Abt Sportsline produces 130 units of the RS5-R, priced from €65,000 in Germany.

Abt Sportsline has transformed the Audi RS5 into a 709-horsepower special edition, with the wagon version taking center stage. The German tuner is producing just 130 units of the RS5-R, available as both a sedan and an Avant.

The conversion price starts at €65,000 (approximately $72,500) for the German market, and that’s before acquiring the base car. Abt is already hinting at a second round of upgrades, including an 800-horsepower tune, set for 2027.

Performance and Power

The Audi RS5 serves as the foundation, combining a twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor to deliver a total of 630 hp and 608 lb-ft of torque. Abt’s Power S software upgrade boosts the engine’s output to 583 hp, pushing the total system output to around 709 hp.

Torque also sees a significant increase, with the engine’s output rising from 443 lb-ft to approximately 502 lb-ft. Combined with the electric motor, the total torque reaches roughly 667 lb-ft. While Abt hasn’t released a new 0-60 mph time, the additional power is expected to shave a few tenths off the stock car’s already impressive acceleration.

Design and Exclusivity

The RS5-R boasts a bold visual presence, featuring a front spoiler with blades, louvered front fenders, mirror caps, and side skirts, all available in gloss or matte carbon. The Avant model stands out with a unique rear wing equipped with aero blades, emphasizing Abt’s claim that the wagon is the more striking of the two.

Abt is limiting production to 130 units worldwide, split between the sedan and Avant body styles. The interior features exclusive touches, including “1 of 130” badges and microfiber trim across the console and seat frames.

Pricing and Future Upgrades

The conversion package starts at €62,000 (around $69,000) for the sedan in gloss carbon, while the Avant costs €65,000 (approximately $72,500). A Carbon Camouflage finish adds an extra €3,000 ($3,350) to both body styles. This is in addition to the cost of the base Audi RS5.

Installation, paintwork, and Germany’s mandatory TUV inspection add at least €7,160 ($8,000) for the sedan or €7,600 ($8,500) for the Avant. In Germany, a fully equipped RS5-R exceeds the €180,000 mark, pushing the total cost to around $200,000.

Looking ahead, Abt has confirmed a second wave of upgrades for Q2 2027, including a titanium exhaust system developed with Akrapovič and a further tune targeting 800 hp. Pricing for this package has yet to be announced.
