Cupra Terramar VZ Tribe Edition Adds Sustainable Style

The 2026 Cupra Terramar VZ Tribe Edition is now open for orders in Australia, with deliveries slated to start in October.

Buyers can choose between two distinct design themes – “Black” and “Green.” Both versions feature 3D‑knitted seat upholstery made from 100 percent recycled material in the seat centres. The interior plastics contain roughly 30 percent recycled content, while the new 20‑inch alloy wheels use up to 20 percent recycled material.

The Green variant is finished in a matte Manganese Green paint that matches the Sulfur Green accents on the exclusive wheels and interior trims. In contrast, the Black model sports a Midnight Black finish with “gravity” alloy wheels that are blacked‑out. Both variants come standard with the usually optional panoramic glass sunroof and replace the brand’s typical copper detailing with dark chrome exterior accents.

Only ten units of the Green version and thirty‑five of the Black version will be sold in Australia. The Black edition starts at $70,490 before on‑road costs, translating to a $75,490 drive‑away price – a $2,000 premium over the base VZ model. The Green variant is priced at $73,390 before on‑road costs, or $78,390 drive‑away, also $2,000 above the standard VZ with matte paint and $2,900 over the base model’s pricing.

Both editions are covered by Cupra’s standard five‑year unlimited‑kilometre warranty and include five years of roadside assistance. A prepaid five‑year service package is available for $2,690.

These limited editions follow a global rollout that saw similar Tribe trims on the Cupra Terramar, Formentor and Leon last year. In Europe, the Tribe badge is offered across all powertrain options – petrol, diesel, mild‑hybrid and plug‑in hybrid – for the Formentor, Leon, Leon Sportstourer and Terramar lineups.

While the Australian market currently receives only the Terramar VZ Tribe Edition, Cupra’s broader strategy includes expanding its electric offerings. The brand’s local sales fell 14.3 percent in July 2025 and 31 percent year‑to‑date, a dip attributed partly to the delayed launch of the Formentor crossover and the shelving of the Born electric hatchback’s reintroduction.

Cupra plans to introduce the 245 kW Leon Sportstourer VZx, a niche successor to the Golf R wagon, and a more affordable version of the Tavascan electric coupe SUV, priced at $55,490 – undercutting the Tesla Model Y by several thousand dollars.
