Ford has introduced a new appearance package for its 2027 Super Duty lineup, designed as a visual tribute to American themes. The Proud to Honor Package adds patriotic graphics and styling upgrades to the heavy-duty pickup, though the automaker has not specified how many units will be produced.

The package is available exclusively with black exterior paint and features a red, white, and blue American flag graphic along the sides. The design, described by Ford as “a bold, factory-backed tribute to American grit,” is intended to stand out on job sites and highways alike. Additional details include black wheels—19.5-inch forged aluminum on dual-rear-wheel models—and darkened exterior trim.

The package can be added to F-250, F-350, and F-450 models across multiple trims, including XL, XLT, King Ranch, and Platinum. It is also compatible with the Tremor Off-Road Package and XLT and Lariat models equipped with the Black Appearance Package. However, it will not be available on the Platinum Plus trim.

Ordering for the F-250 with the package opened this week, while the F-350 and F-450 will follow later in the year. Pricing has not yet been announced, but Ford confirmed the package will include a three-year, 36,000-mile supplemental warranty. Buyers are advised to contact their local dealers for details.

The Proud to Honor Package is offered through Ford Custom Garage, the automaker’s official upfit program. Unlike some appearance packages that include interior upgrades, this one is strictly cosmetic. The decision to limit changes to the exterior has drawn some criticism, with observers noting that a more full refresh might have been expected for a limited-edition model.

Ford’s move comes as American automakers ramp up patriotic-themed vehicles ahead of the country’s 250th anniversary in 2026. Similar efforts have appeared in recent years, including Chevrolet’s special-edition trucks and Jeep’s military-themed models. The trend reflects a broader push to align branding with national identity, though its long-term appeal remains uncertain.

For now, the package is a straightforward visual upgrade. Whether it resonates with buyers—or simply becomes a footnote in Ford’s model history—will depend on pricing and availability. The automaker has not disclosed production limits, leaving some to question just how exclusive the offering will be.

Dealers have already begun accepting orders, though the lack of immediate pricing details may slow early interest. Ford’s warranty addition suggests confidence in the package’s durability, but without interior enhancements, its appeal may be limited to buyers prioritizing aesthetics over functionality.

The Super Duty lineup has long been a staple for commercial and personal use, known for its towing capacity and rugged design. This latest package, while not mechanically different, reinforces Ford’s strategy of offering niche customization options to stand out in a competitive segment.

Whether the patriotic theme will drive sales—or fade into the background—remains to be seen. For now, it’s another option on the order sheet, one that lets buyers make a statement without changing how the truck performs.
